When he was appointed as head of the NPA Adv Shaun Abrahams stated that “he was his own man” and would prosecute anyone without fear or favour.

His track record todate does not nspire confidence.

Now he has the opportunity to prove it. Today a full bench of the Gauteng North High Court ruled that the decision of former acting head of the NDPP Mokotedi Mpshe to drop the 783 charges of fraud against Jacob Zuma as irrational.

Rather than waste time and money appealing the unanimous judgement of the Gauteng High Court he should reinstate in the charges and let Zuma have his day in court and prove his innocence.

“I am my own man” Abrahams should also ensure that the NPA in Limpopo charges against Lieutenant-General Berning Ntlemenza the Zuma appointed Head of the Hawks for defating the ends of Justice.

Failure to take appropiate action in both these cases will prove that rather than being “his own man” he is nohing but a Zuma lacky
